If you think NASCAR drivers have an axe to grind with their biggest rivals, there will be a whole lot more competitors with that mindset roaming the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) Fan Zone during the March 22-24 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix NASCAR weekend.

The axe-wielding athletes of the DLW Timberworks Lumberjack Show will highlight the free entertainment in the Fan Zone during the COTA race weekend featuring the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS), Xfinity Series (NXS) and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS).

The Timberworks Lumberjack Show has been captivating audiences for the past quarter century through a sport derived from our nation’s heritage. The lumberjacks will exhibit their athleticism, strength, power and speed in a variety of different competitions involving lumber, axes and chainsaws. The competitions include the axe throw, chainsaw race, log rolling, obstacle pole relay race, speed climbing, hot saw, speed carving, springboard chops, underhand chops and more.

The Fan Zone, located in the venue’s Grand Plaza, also will feature The Red Trouser Show, Accidental Acrobats, 1st Cavalry Division Band, face painters, balloon artists and 360-degree booths. The special acts will perform Saturday and Sunday and have multiple show times each day. The Fan Zone will be available to fans when the gates open at 9 a.m. CT Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.

The Red Trouser Show consists of the duo of David Graham and Tobin Renwick, who have known each other since the first grade and got their start with the internationally acclaimed Circus Smirkus. Since then, they have spent the past two decades traveling the world with their award-winning show where they perform acrobatics and juggle everything from knives to torches with a big splash of comedy mixed in.

Also performing during the weekend will be the Austin-based Accidental Acrobats. They will flip, tumble and crash their way into the hearts of fans with their high-energy acrobatic stunt show. The show mixes acrobatic stunts with contortion, fire, whips, comedy, archery and feats of human strength that will entertain fans of all ages.

For fans interested in kicking back and enjoying some music, the 1st Cavalry Division Band will be performing in the Fan Zone. The rock band, consisting of soldiers from the U.S. Army’s Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood) in Killeen, Texas, will perform various hits from popular performers across different genres of music.

The featured weekend entertainment will come during pre-race activities for the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix on Sunday, March 24. Multi-platinum country music superstar Riley Green will be performing a free one-hour concert on the frontstretch stage beginning at 12:45 p.m. CT. Fans can upgrade their race-day experience with an additional Track Pass, including stage-front access for the concert, driver introductions and more, for just $75.

In addition to the NCS EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix, the weekend will feature a pair of races on Saturday, March 23 – the NXS Focused Health 250 and NCTS XPEL 225 – along with NCS qualifying. The three-day race weekend opens Friday, March 22 with practice and qualifying for both the NXS and NCTS.
